I've been working on my green cardigan like a madwoman these days despite the fact that I picked up recently not one, not two, but four skeins of Nashua Creative Focus Worsted yarn in this blueish Juniper color. The cardigan itself is so yummy in Cascade 220 yarn in a greenish tweed color to wear with my little black dress with teeny white polka-dots for the boyfriend's cousin's wedding in two weeks. I've got the front two panels and the back but I still am missing sleeves and I need to sew up all the pieces together and pick up stitches for the collar and the ribbing for the buttons. I did pick up the buttons for the cardigan too so I should be set! Um...right...maybe? Lordy I suck at deadlines. >_<;
The new skeins that I picked up are just gorgeous in this fuzzy warm wool/alpaca blend. I picked them up from this yarn shop in town but I made the poor choice of bringing my male friend along. I mistakenly thought that because the yarn shop had a bakery and a coffee shop inside that he'd be kept occupied with that while I took a peek for some yarn. Instead I got one very surly man-friend breathing down my neck for taking too long looking at one yarn or another so in a bit of a rushed, impulsive moment I picked up the four skeins of the Nashua and to be honest I don't regret it the fact I picked it up so much as why I didn't pick up more. I'm thinking about knitting up a lacey throw blanket or shawl with it to keep me warm in the autumn since the yarn's fuzz is haloing out of the skein a bit too much already as is that I wouldn't want to a wear it as a cardigan or sweater. It's now only a matter of time to pick the appropriate pattern for this yarn to take shape but thankfully I still have a cardigan and my Juno Regina shawl/stole to knit through before I need to make any decisions on these skeins. I so need to get my camera up and running for more pictures!!
